Acrylic Displays - Client: Various

Acrylic Displays are becoming more and more popular. Thats why I created this blog to show the variety of ways in which acrylic can be used.

Acrylic can be cut to any size or shape, it can be polished, buffed, and drilled. Although most of the examples below show clear acrylic it can be produced in may colours. It is also available in various thicknesses. Acrylic displays are extremely strong and can be used where glass perhaps can’t for safety reasons. It is also lightweight when compared to glass.

Acylic using Photographs

This display consists of 3 photos which we have mounted to the back of the clear acrylic. In other words the adhesion is on the face of the prints. The edges were buffed and holes were drilled for the 25mm chrome stand off fixings.

Corporate Displays

Isle Design Signage

Isle Design Signage

Isle Design had a series of internal acrylic signs created after launching their new corporate identity. This is just one of them. The panel was 1200mm square. We applied white vinyl to the back of the acrylic and magenta vinyl to the front. When using lighting this method created a subtle shadow of the letters through the 6mm thick panel.

Partitions

This 10mm thick example (created for Fusion Office Interiors) needed to be carefully cut to shape. It was used between desks to work as a partition. We applied frosted vinyl to obscure the views from one desk to another.

Acrylic ’sandwich’ Displays

North Notts College required an acrylic display with the option of being able to change the graphics from time to time. Therefore we trapped 2 pieces of clear acrylic together. The client could then undo the fixings, remove the first acrylic sheet, change the print over and then fix back together again.

Created for our neighbours Medsmart Solutions this 1800mm x 1200mm acrylic display (10mm thick) needed to look stylish and impactive. We applied silver vinyl to the back of the acrylic sheet which contrasted well with the purple corporate colour.
